Kaslo suite - July 2024
Great experience! It is not easy to find a place that allowed dogs. Shelley works very hard to accommodate dog owners while making sure everyone has a wonderful time enjoying her property and the beach. My family just visited the Kaslo Suit for a 4 day weekend. Home was clean and Shelley went out of her way to insure we were comfortable and had everything we needed upon check in. This place is a gem – on the beach and minutes from town while secluded and surrounded by nature. Shelley was a wonderful host and my family will be sure to return 🙂

We stayed 4 nights in the Kaslo suite which was really lovely. It looked exactly as the photos showed and was as expected. I had been referred here by a friend who has stayed during the summers growing up. Everything was as he had described. I knew ahead of time that there were 3 separate suites and that we might be sharing the beach area with another family. This didn’t both us at all and we were happy to meet the other people staying here, they were considerate and overall it was a great weekend. Everyone was respectful of each others space and there were no concerns. Shelley and her husband were friendly and responsive to anything we needed help with, questions asked etc. They are working hard as new owners to update the property and have already made many improvements. The beach and lake are so beautiful, this is the perfect place to enjoy your days paddle boarding and kayaking.

We had a family reunion of 17 persons and a baby. We had all three units and all had very comfortable beds, clean linens, and everything we needed to make our breakfasts. We decided not to spend time cooking meals but there were crock pots and cooking supplies present. We loved the proximity to the lake and Shelly was generous to share her lake equipment with us. She was extremely responsive and was willing to pop over from her house and down to take a photo of the whole family. We had more rain than usual but got out on the lake whenever we could. We wish we could have stayed longer! Would definitely return especially the convenience of having the whole family together! Thank you Shelley!

Perfect Getaway Spot Positive: We absolutely loved this place and will for sure be back. We had an amazing stay with our dogs. The location is perfect just outside of town. The property is wonderful with a private beach, hot tub and comfortable cabin. The cabin itself is clean, well-stocked, comfortable beds and cozy couches. Once you get there, you don’t want to leave. Shelley is a wonderful host and has thought of all the little details paddle boards, lake towels, BBQ etc.

Lots of space, beautiful private lake, responsive owner Hot tub was hot, lake was placid, far enough from nelson to be super quiet, but close enough for quick runs in to town for supplies.

Perfect place by Kootenay Lake! Stayed with friends for a recent ski trip to Nelson. What a beautiful location! The hot tub on the deck is the perfect place to unwind after a busy day, and the view is phenomenal! Very well-appointed listing, and an extremely comfortable place to stay. Shelley was great to deal with and always quick to respond. We’re looking forward to staying here again!!!

We had an amazing stay over the Remembrance Day long weekend! Shelley has done an incredible job setting up the property for group stays. The hot tub on the beautifully refinished deck was really something special, looking out over the lake. Highly recommend especially for the winter ski season.

We had a great stay over the Christmas holiday with our family. Shelly was an excellent host and very welcoming. The location is beautiful, very tucked away by Kootenay Lake but a short drive from downtown Nelson. The house was very clean and well-equipped, and Shelly was very responsive addressing any issues that came up with the house. We had a great stay and would love to come again!

We stayed here this summer and loved the location, even if the train runs right behind the home. We loved having direct lake access and could ride our bikes into town on a non busy road. The rental was in the middle of an ownership change which lead to some issues but Shelley did her best to take care of things as best as she could. We would not hesitate to stay again now that it is under Shelley’s ownership.

You cannot beat this view! Beach is wonderful and so peaceful. My bother had a chance to get out on one of the paddleboards they have there for guest use, while I enjoyed the view from the deck. I would recommend this stay, and especially if you are keen on lakefronts. It is spectacular and just a short trail / path on the side of the house giving you access to the amazing beach and lake.

Family Get together The house and location are perfect for a family getaway. its a little bit off the beaten path which is perfect for privacy. Unfortunately we had record breaking cold temperatures which kept us indoors but the large dining room table was perfect for us to stay indoors and play board games. The view of the lake was stunning, I’m coming back in the summer and take advantage of the beach access!

A great, private retreat We stayed for a few nights during winter and enjoyed the hot tub, spacious property and all of the amenities that the property had to offer. It would be great to come back in summer as the beach property would be amazing.

Nelson gem I loved how clean and organized this place was. Plenty of space gear. Beds were comfortable. And anything you needed for your stay was accessible. I would highly recommend this rental.

Family Getaway This stay was perfect for a family getaway consisting of four adults and our lab. We stayed for a few nights during the week, and there weren’t any guests in the adjacent suite so we had the beach to ourselves. Shelley, who recently purchased the property, was quick to communicate and address a few minor items for us. We would stay here again!
